Thoughts on the creative process:
"The creative way is a lifestyle and being an artist is a calling. As a curious energetic child, I would always be thrilled to be engaged in anything creative and it was often making something from nothing. Life was delightful if I had simple things like a box of crayons, paper, paint, yarn, fabric, needle, thread, cardboard, ribbon, etc. I could entertain myself for hours using my imagination. My love of learning and the creative process intertwined and began a lifelong fascinating, creative journey. Over the years I have worked my way through numerous art methods & styles to find myself returning again and again to certain themes. Since moving from the Laurel Highlands of Western Pennsylvania to Hampton Roads 17 years ago, I fell in love with the landscape and its precious wildlife, tidal marshes, swift expansive rivers, shining ocean, and incredible sunrises. I focus my painting on capturing the feeling, the quietness, the light, and particularly the experience of being there, if only for a fleeting moment."
