“The inspiration for this project was the Doof Warrior’s flamethrower guitar from Mad Max.

 I felt that the scale of the one in the movie was a bit outside my comfort zone, so I decided to build a flamethrower ukulele instead.

I didn’t want to try to replicate exactly what he had, and I also wanted to scale things down to be marginally safer. My version can be built from hardware store parts in a very short amount of time.” -Caleb Kraft

The Maker Movement in America is a new wave of Do-It-Yourself and Do-It-Together culture fueled by passion and powered by the advent of new technologies. Creating things like...uh… like this flame-throwing Uke!

Phoebus Film Club will screen Maker: The Movie on Thursday, September 24, 7:30pm

From the producers of the internationally acclaimed “Design & Thinking,” “Maker” is a feature-length documentary that looks into the current Maker movement. You won't see a flame-throwing Uke in the film, but you'll be amazed at  the other cool inventions these 'makers' are creating!
