Fun for the Entire Family
Families come in a wide variety of ‘shapes and sizes’, and at Hampton Arts we celebrate them all. Art is for everyone, but it is most richly enjoyed when experienced with the ones we love. This season is full of great shows the entire family will enjoy!
Hurrah Players: School of Rock - Saturday, October 22 at 2:30pm
Based on the famous Paramount film written by Mike White, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. The stage musical on Broadway is produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has composed 14 new songs to create a score, which also features all of the original songs from the movie. School of Rock is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with you!

A lively musical review in the style of Radio City Music Hall. Featuring holiday favorites from yesterday and today, precision kick line dancers, a celebration of all faiths and a 100% chance of snow! It’s an event for the entire family!
I Have A Dream - Saturday, February 4 at 2:30pm
The phenomenal impact of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is chronicled in this compelling dramatization of the life and times of one of the most influential and charismatic leaders of the American Century. Inspired by the arrest of Rosa Parks, Dr. King puts his philosophy of nonviolent protest to work. He gains recognition and becomes the dominant force in the Civil Rights Movement during its decade of greatest achievement. Be inspired by the story of this great leader’s struggle and his dream of lifting “our nation from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.”
Hurrah Players: Disney’s Aladdin - Saturday, May 4 at 2:30pm
Based on the iconic animated film, with an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, Disney’s Aladdin is sure to send audiences soaring on a flying carpet ride filled with romance and adventure. When the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie's magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie and more are here in Disney’s Aladdin, a musical adventure filled with magic, mayhem and the power of love.
The Wright Brothers - Saturday, April 8 at 2:30pm
Two brothers, Orville and Wilbur Wright, decide that it is indeed their destiny to make this dream real and begin in earnest to build a machine that can fly. Starting with gliders they take their dreams and equipment to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. After some success, but a lot more failure, they return to Dayton feeling despondent and at the end of their road. The brothers toss a coin to decide who be the very first human to experience sustained, powered flight? Who wins? Find out the answer, and witness the historic flight itself in this Wright Brothers musical guaranteed to send your imagination soaring!
