Presidio Brass: Sounds of the Cinema
The brass quintet of musicians and scholars paves the way for a new generation of brass entertainment and music education!
Presidio Brass has rocketed to success as the face of a bold new generation in brass entertainment since forming in 2006. Their combination of brass quintet, piano, and percussion instruments with original arrangements has created a unique sound that’s become their trademark and captivated audiences worldwide.
Each member of the group began their music career by joining their school’s band program where they became inspired by the dedication of their school music teachers. Presidio Brass came together with the primary mission to promote music education and music appreciation in children. Their performances are often paired with a master class or school program where they volunteer their time teaching music to young kids.
When they’re not on tour, they perform throughout the country as freelance artists, maintain private teaching studios at local universities, arrange and compose new music, assist with public school music programs, and operate an annual summer music camp in San Diego for brass students of all ages.
Members of Presidio Brass have performed with major symphony orchestras across the country, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony and San Diego Symphony, and have shared the stage with notable artists such as Stevie Wonder and Natalie Cole.
Through their hit touring show of Hollywood’s greatest hits, Sounds of the Cinema, they present film music with a good dose of wit and humor that together that have become trademarks that you can expect to experience at their performances. Their comical banter is paired with the finest jazz and classical music used in films as well as popular original music written specifically for the movies, including the “Main Theme” from Star Wars and Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.”
