Smooth Jazz with Joe McBride and Paul Brown
Smooth Jazz with Joe McBride and Paul Brown
Two jazz greats come to The American Theatre for one night!
Joe McBride has spent decades performing as a jazz vocalist and keyboardist. With collaborations featuring some of the greatest names in jazz like Grover Washington, Jr., Richard Elliot, Phil Perry, Peter White, Dave Koz, and Rick Braun, McBride's music has crossed genres to reach many fans across the globe.
After developing a dengeneratve eye disease in his teens, McBride attended Missouri School for the Blind and Webster University to continue his musical studies. He found initial success playing jazz in San Diego and Dallas, which led to becoming the opening act for Whitney Houston, Larry Carlton, and the Yellowjackets. His solo career didn't stop there--he released his debut album Grace in 1992 and continued to produce more than half a dozen albums with some of his favorite musical artists.
The Los Angeles born and raised guitarist, Paul Brown, has had his fair share of success. Three of his six albums hit the Billboard Albums' Top Ten list and he won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2002. His R&B and urban jazz sounds have been accompanied by legendary guitarists Chris Standring, Peter White, Marc Antoine and Chuck Loeb.
Having started out in the industry as a drummer, Brown switched to engineering and produced more than sixty #1 radio airplay hits. He chose to tap into his blues and funk influences to begin performing solo across the United States. "The freedom and confidence I have gained from [performing live] translates to my personal development and allows me to bring fresh new ideas into the studio," Brown says.
