Stop! In the Name of Love! The legendary superstars Mary Wilson and Freda Payne are headed to Hampton to “Sing the Legends” at The American Theatre on October 17, 2015 at 8:00pm.
Motown superstars, Mary Wilson and Freda Payne, are two of the most legendary singers in history. You may be wondering, what have those gals been up to lately? Well they have been keeping busy as they always have.
Mary Wilson
Mary has toured the globe as a performer and continues to travel as an advocate on behalf of social and civic issues. She has kept the Supremes’ legacy alive on the world stage at international museums with a touring exhibit entitled, “The Story of the Supremes from the Mary Wilson Gown Collection,” featuring their show-stopping gowns and coveted memorabilia. The gowns were on exhibit at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and will be touring the United Kingdom before going on to Europe for another two years.

Freda Payne
Freda has worked with Quincy Jones doing the Montreux Jazz festival and the We Are the World Haiti Relief Project. Her stardom and talent was recognized by the producers of American Idol as she was featured as one of the disco pop icons in 2009. With her superb jazz pipes, Freda has been performing in theatres and clubs doing “A Tribute to Ella Fitzgerald” for the last twelve years. She continues to record jazz and recently landed a deal with Mack Ave. Records. Her album was produced by Bill Cunliffe at Capitol Records and will be released at the end of the year. As a veteran in the business Freda will forever spread love, healing, and joy with her beauty and her voice.
