The 21st Century Groucho-- Frank Ferrante!
Frank Ferrante, award-winning actor and director, has made a name for himself as one of the best Groucho Marx impersonators in the world. He was discovered by Groucho's son, Arthur, while he was a drama student at the University of Southern California. Since then, he has performed as Groucho more than 2,500 times in more than 400 cities.
At only 23 years old, Ferrante originated the off-Broadway role of Groucho from ages 18-85 in Groucho: A Life in Revue (written by Arthur Marx) for which he earned New York’s Theatre World Award and an Outer Critics Circle nomination. In 2001, Frank directed, produced and starred in the nationally-televised version of the show on PBS.
He continued to star in other Marx Brothers' classics off-broadway including The Cocoanuts and Animal Crackers. Most recently he has toured internationally in An Evening with Groucho, a one-man show that brings the world's greatest funny-man back to life.
Outside of Groucho, Ferrante has redefined his improvisational comedy as Caesar in Teatro ZinZanni's cirque show, located in Seattle, Washington. He has also dabbled in voice acting with his roles on Spongebob Squarepants and The Garfield Show.
