Tony DeSare Jazz Trio
Named a Rising Star Male Vocalist in Downbeat Magazine, Tony DeSare has lived up to this title by garnering attention for his performances through North America and abroad. DeSare’s stage career began shortly after moving to New York City in 1999, when he was cast as the star of the Off-Broadway musical Our Sinatra. He then moved on to performing at the Apollo Theater in 2002 where he met jazz guitar icon Bucky Pizzarelli, who continues to perform with DeSare’s band around the country.
From jazz clubs to Carnegie Hall to Las Vegas headlining with Don Rickles and major symphony orchestra, DeSare has shared his fresh take on old-school class around the world. DeSare has three top ten Billboard jazz albums under his belt and has been featured on the CBS Early Show, NPR, and the Today Show. DeSare has also collaborated with Youtube icons Postmodern Jukebox.
DeSare wrote the theme song for the motion picture, My Date with Drew, several broadcast commercials, and has composed the full soundtracks for the Hallmark Channel’s Love Always, Santa and Lifetime’s Nanny Nightmare.
DeSare is known to have a romantic and playful sound, but what really sets him apart is his ability to write original songs that sound fresh and modern, but still pays homage to the Great American Songbook. In 2008, DeSare was noted as a Savior of the American Songbook and one of the most promising young male performers of the 19th annual Cabaret Convention at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
