Set in the French Quarter of New Orleans during the restless years following WW II, A Streetcar Named Desire is the story of Blanche DuBois, a former Southern belle who, after encountering a series of personal losses, leaves her once-prosperous situation to move into a shabby apartment in New Orleans rented by her younger sister Stella and brother-in-law Stanley. Blanche’s flirtatious Southern Belle presence causes problems for Stella and Stanley, who already have a volatile relationship, leading to even greater conflict in the Kowalski household. Motives are revealed and worlds collide as we witness the unveiling of circumstances that become almost unbearable to witness.
